Buddha Towards Migadāya to Deliver Sermon
Dhammacakka (Dhamma Wheel)
After Mahàbrahmà Sahampati leave the place, the Buddha
ponder, "Whom I will teach the Dhamma
the first time? Who can quickly understand
Dhamma that I teach? "Then he thought," Leader
flow from the tribe of Alara Kalama has three panna, namely:
knowledge of birth (jati-panna), knowledge of meditation
(Bhavana-panna), and preserving knowledge (pàrihàrika-
panna). He is also a man of wisdom eye is free from
dust kilesa (upparajakkha Puggala) in a very long time.
How nice if I teach the Dhamma to him first.
He will see that I taught the Dhamma clear. "
After that, the gods come without revealing himself and said,
"Buddha's noble, this day seven days have passed since leader
flow from the tribe of Alara Kalama died. "Buddha, which
not expecting to hear the words of gods, see
through Sabbannuta Nana and know that Alara was
had died seven days ago, as mentioned
by the gods and was born in Nature Arupa Brahma
Akincannàyatana, Brahma Arupa Third.
After pondering, "The big disadvantage for the leader of the
Alara Kalama lost the opportunity through Magga-Phala
he got a decent, if he can listen to the Dhamma
I taught you, he will quickly see the Four Truths
Honor. "Buddha then ponder further," To
Who I'd teach the Dhamma first? Who
who can quickly understand the Dhamma taught? "
Then he thought, "the leader of the Udaka, the son of Rama,
Alara was a such, has three Panna. He also
a apparajakkha Puggala. Wisdom eye is free from
kilesa dust in a very long time. Well if I
teaches the Dhamma to him first. He will see
I taught the Dhamma clear. "
After that, the other gods came to reveal itself without
and said, "Buddha's noble, leader of the Udaka, the son
Rama has died at midnight yesterday. "Buddha, which
not expecting to hear the words of gods, see
through Sabbannuta Nana and knowing that the leader of the
Udaka really had died the night before as
mentioned by the gods and was born in Nature Arupa
Nevasannàvàsannàyatana Brahma, Brahma-fourth Arupa
(Also called Bhavagga) of the four Brahma Arupa Nature.
After that, (reflecting), "The big disadvantage for the leader of the
Udaka, the son of Rama, loss of opportunity through Magga-
Phala decent she has received; if he can listen to the Dhamma
I taught you, he will quickly see the Four Truths
Honor. "Buddha then ponder further," To
Who I'd teach the Dhamma first? Who
who can quickly understand the Dhamma taught? "
Then the Buddha thought, "The group of five ascetics, Pancavaggiyà,
have helped me when I was practicing
dukkaracariya for six years in the Forest Uruvela, so, well
once when I teach Dhamma to a group of five ascetics
first time. "After pondering," Where are the five hermit
are now? "And with Dibbacakkhu Abhinnà, he saw
they dwell in Migadāya, a large deer park which is also
called Isipatana, near the city of Varanasi.
(In this connection, the Buddha consider and
reflect the services provided by a group of five ascetics
it to him because he felt indebted to
them. However, that does not mean he does not want to teach
Dhamma to those who do not serve Him).
After her intentions, "I'll go to the Deer Park and
giving sermons Dhammacakka ", he went to collect
of food funds in the area around the Bodhi tree and stay there
until the fourteenth day of the month Asàlha. And on the day of full moon
that month, early in the morning, after smoothing and bring
His robe and bowl and thought, "I'll go to the City
Varanasi, "He began his journey as far as eighteen Yojana
walk.
(The distance between the Mahabodhi and Style (Buddhagayà) are three
gàvuta. The distance between the Mahabodhi and the city of Varanasi is eight
twelve Yojana. Buddhas of the past walk through
Jhana air vehicle to deliver the sermon
Dhammacakka. But we are Buddhist, he walked as far as
eighteen Yojana, because he predicted that a
hermit named Upaka, may soon reach a level of purity
Anagamin because of his past virtues. He saw that,
"Upaka're traveling on the same street. Upaka
will meet with me, from the opposite direction then
continue his journey. After that, feeling tired
this world, he would come to see me to listen
Dhamma, and to be in this life anagamin Noble
and also became Arahanta in the second birth after reaching
Avihà Bhumi, the Brahma Twelfth ").
Meet The ascetic Buddhist Upaka
When the Buddha went to Varanasi to the Mahabodhi
walk. Upaka hermit who travel between
Mahabodhi and Buddhagayà saw and approached the Buddha,
said, "Friend, thy body parts, eyes, ears, nose, tongue,
body, and thy thoughts are so clear, your skin is also very clean
and luminous. My friend, from whom you learned? Who
Your teacher? Dhamma who you learned? "Buddha
provide answers to the ascetic Upaka in the following verses:
(1) Sabbàbhibhu sabbàvidu'ham Asmi;
sabbesu dhammesu ampalitto.
Sabban'jaho tanhà'kkhaye vimutto;
sayam Abhinnàya uddiseyyam camp.
Upaka, I, the Buddha, Dhamma has mastered all three
Perfection and nature and have a complete knowledge
about everything; I have also been freed from the stain kilesa,
such as greed, evil, ignorance, and others
with respect to the three forms of birth (tebhumaka Dhamma).
I have removed all tebhumaka Dhamma. I also
have been safe in Nirvana where tanha outages. As a
which has penetrated all the Dhamma by ourselves, without
taught by others, who can I call, 'He is
My teacher ', that was not there.
(2) Na me àcariyo atthi;
na vijjati sadiso me.
Sadevakasmim lokasmim;
patipuggalo n'atthi me.
Upaka, there is no teacher for me. (There is no teacher who can
My exceeded). There is not even comparable to mine. Not
There is nothing in this world beings, including gods, who
can match me in terms of qualities such as virtue, and others.
(3) Aham hi Arahà loke;
aham satthà anuttaro.
Eko'mhi Sammàsambhuddo;
sitibhuto'smi nibbuto.
Upaka, I was Arahanta in this world, a decent
receive a special reverence. I'm also a teacher who
exceptional and there is no comparison to humans and gods in
this world. Because I can see with all SayambhuNàna
Dhamma without error, I is the highest that has been
reach enlightenment. I'm also a person who has
kilesa extinguish the fire.
(4) Dhammacakkam pavattetum;
gacchàmi kasinam puram.
Andhibhutasmim lokasmim;
àhancham amatadundubim.
Upaka, I'll go to the Deer Park near Varanasi in Isipatana
Kasi to play the Wheel of Dhamma. I'll beat
big drum of immortality for all the gods and humans,
without the wisdom eye, groping like a blind man.
After that, the ascetic Upaka said, "My friend, If what
You say is true, you must be a person who has
infinite wisdom (Nana Ananta) and who has
five conquer evil (Mara).
Buddha replied:
(5) Màdisà ve honti Jina;
Patta àsavakkhayam ye.
Jità me pàpakà Dhamma;
tasmà'ham Upaka jino.
Upaka, the Buddhas like myself are called by my conqueror (Jina) because
they have reached Arahatta-Magga Nana, extinction of four
àsava and have removed the evil factors (akusala-Dhamma).
I'm also known as Jina, because, like the Buddha
others, I have reached Knowledge of extinction
àsava, Asavakkhaya (Arahatta-Magga) Nana, and eliminate
akusala-Dhamma.
Furthermore, the ascetic Upaka said, "My friend, what you
say must be true! "nodded his head and take
recourse to the State Vankahara. Opportunity for dialogue
and discussions with Buddhist proved to be a factor
beneficial for her to release later worldliness.
Right! Upaka is actually one that has a service
extraordinary (Adhikàra). For this reason, the Buddha did
journey on foot to see him in
trip.
(Those who listened to the words of the Buddha Dhamma
before the Buddha preached the sermon will not Dhammacakka
achieve Magga-Phala. They just have the desire
(Vàsanà) to try to penetrate the Dhamma. This is a
dhammatà, and thus did not reach Upaka Magga-Phala
although he had heard the words of the Dhamma in connection
with the qualities of the Buddha, he just enjoys the benefits of
desire to become a monk after that.)
A Brief History Upaka
Upaka hermit living in a small hermitage in the township
Vankahara hunters in the village and is very respected and supported
by leaders of the hunter in the village. (Since the number of insects

One day the hunter will travel to the deer woods
far away, he left a message to his daughter Capa, "My daughter,
serve well our teacher who was a Arahanta do

Nikaya). And then he went with his sons.
Capa, the daughter of the leader of hunters, has a beautiful appearance
and interesting. He has a perfect body that was
growing up. The day after his father's departure, ascetic Upaka
came to the house of the leader of the hunters and when they saw and
Capa approaching, the hunter's daughter to receive alms
which has been prepared, he ruled by lust. So, even without
capable of taking food, he returned to his place with

can survive if I have a Capa! I will die if
do not get it! "He lay without food.
On the seventh day, the leaders of the hunter came home, he asked
to his daughter, Capa about Master Upaka; and was told by

after it had never come back. "Hearing this news, he

to the right and moaning. When the hunter urged him, "Tell
me, I'll do anything I can do
for you. "Upaka ascetic replied," I can live only if
I can have the capa. If not, I'd rather die here. "
When the hunter replied, "Your Majesty, do you have
skills? "Upaka ascetic replied," I do not have
any skill, "then again, the hunter said," The
Noble, one who does not have the skills will not be able to
home life. "Upaka ascetic replied," I do not
have the skills. However, I can bring the animal
buruanmu and sell the meat. "
By saying "We love the idea of carrying and selling
meat, "the hunter gave him clothes and letting
change clothes and take it home, he gave
his daughter, Capa, to marry Upaka.
A son born of the marriage Upaka and Capa, who was given
Subbhadda name. When the child cries, CAPA will insult and
Upaka laugh by singing lullabies
to hurt and belittle Upaka indirectly:
Son butchers, a former hermit,
Stupid son of a former hermit,
Followers of a hunter,
Who fell in love with me,
Mother to persuade you to sleep,
Stop crying! I hope you go to bed.
In swing decorated with emeralds and diamonds,
Sleep! My son is of pure gold,
Mother would sing and swing,
To lull thee.
Stop crying! Clumps of gold!
I hope you sleep.
Your father, the last man!
Here's how to avoid;
in the future in an attempt to be free.
Mother exhort,
My son is handsome, my golden wreath!
At that time, Upaka said, "My wife, do you think
as someone who can not be asked for help and
protection? I have a good friend named Ananta
Jina. I'll go to my good friend, Ananta Jina. "Knowing
that, "Upaka would be very hurt if I underestimate and
insulted in this way, "Capa kept repeating the song
bedtime is. One day, Upaka go to the Region
Central (Majjhima-Village) without telling Capa.
At that time, the Buddha was dwelling at the monastery at Jetavana
Savatthi, and has commanded the monks, "Monks,
if someone comes and asks about Ananta Jina, deliver
he told me. "Upaka asked everyone he met
on the way, "Ananta Jina Where to stay?;" and when
he arrived in Savatthi, and stood in the middle of the Jetavana monastery, he
asked the monks, "Your Majesty! Where Ananta
Jina live? "The monks took him to see the Buddha. See
Buddha, Upaka immediately said, "The Great Buddha, remember
and kenalkah thou me, thy disciples? "When the Buddha
said, "Yes, Upaka. Where do you live now? "Upaka
replied, "The Great Buddha! I live in the Village Vaïkahàra. "
Furthermore, the Buddha said, "Upaka, you have aged.
Will you join in the gathering of monks? "
Upaka replied, "Yes, the Great Buddha, I want to." Further
Buddha allowed to join in the assembly of the
monks and taught meditation fit for him. Upaka
practicing meditation with great diligence and reach anagamin-
Phala. When he died, he was reborn in Nature Avihà, nature
The lowest (first) of the five Brahma-Suddhàvasà; and not
Soon, he reached Arahatta-Phala.
A Brief History of Capa
Once abandoned by the former recluse Upaka, Capa felt very
tired with the human world, so after the treatment handed
