Maha Buddhavamsa
The Great Chronicle of The Buddhas
by Tipitakadhara Mingun Sayadaw
Mara's Second visit and Trying to Prevent the
Buddha's Plan
After the Buddha spent four months of rainy season until the
full moon night in the month Kattikà in Isipatana, Migadāya, he
gather the monks and said:
"Bhikkhu, My Son! I, the Buddha, has achieved Arahatta-Phala
the supreme and unequaled through the proper attention
also through right effort. (I have been in Arahatta-Phala
Samàpatti without interruption). Bhikkhu!, My son! You also try
to obtain and achieve the highest Arahatta-Phala and
unequaled through right mindfulness and right effort. Reach
Arahatta-Phala that paramount and unequaled. (By
to be in Arahatta-Phala Samàpatti uninterrupted). "
(Buddha gave this advice with a purpose: so that they
not hesitated because of the tendency of wrong (vàsanà) which
have been uprooted since they are still a common man
(Puthujjanabhàva) by thinking, "Now we are Arahanta
with àsava which has dried up. What's the point we meditate?
Not useful at all, "and that they spend
Phala Samàpatti time to develop and place
lived in the jungle far from the villages and towns; also for monks-
Other monks could see and follow their example (Dittha-
mugati) to dwell in Phala Samàpatti).
At that time, Mara came to the place where the Buddhas once stood and
utter words of prevention:
Baddho'si Màrapàsehi;
Dibba Manusa ye ye ca.
Mahàbandhanàbaddho'si;
Samana mokkhasi na me.
"O ascetic Gotama! You are surrounded and captured by all
trap dirt like a clinging (tanha) and greed
(Lobha), namely, attachment and greed will trap
senses in the enjoyment of nature deities and traps attachment and
greed for sensual pleasure in human nature. Thou
bound by the shackles kilesa in prison in the three realms. O ascetic
Gotama, you will not (for this reason) was able to escape
themselves in any way from my power in the three realms. "
Then the Buddha, (to show that what is said
Mara and the reality is much different like
heavens and the earth and the very opposite is like water and fire),
Mara told firmly:
Muttà sabbapasehi ham;
Dibba Manusa ye ye ca.
Mahàbandhanà-mutto'mhi;
nihato tvamasi antaka.
"Thou wicked Mara! I, the Buddha, was a
actually have total free of all dirt trap
like clinging (tanha) and greed (lobha), namely,
trap attachment and greed for sensual pleasures
in nature deities and traps attachment and greed will
sensual pleasure in human nature. I also really been out
once and for all from bondage kilesa in three realms. I
has totally conquered thee in battle kilesa
this. (That thou art suffering total defeat).
Then, the god Mara became sad and discouraged and
said, "The Supreme Buddha has to recognize who I am! Buddha
Intelligent say has to recognize who I am. "He immediately
disappeared from that place.
Thirty Prince Brothers Become Bhaddavaggiya
Bhikkhu
(Buddha never felt restless and unhappy when
dwells somewhere in the absence of shelter and
enough water, because of the miserable living conditions and
because the people there who do not have confidence. When
they dwell in a place in a long time is not
because of the shelter and adequate water and not
because of the religious population, so they feel
happy and comfortable, and think, 'We can live happily
in this place! "Actually, the Buddha dwelt somewhere
because they want the creatures in there to obtain
welfare and prosperity in Three Protection, morality,
monastic, and the Roads and fruit that they gave so
the people there could receive protection, practice
eight or ten rules, to become a monk because
virtue of their past that serves as a condition
supporters (upanissaya paccaya) for them to achieve
Maggàphala. It is not uncommon for Buddhists to liberate
beings worthy of release, and if nothing else
which could be released, the Buddha will move elsewhere).
After the Buddha dwelt at Isipatana Migadāya near Varanasi
until keing Inan him to release the five monks
Pa ¤ cavaggiyà have been met, he traveled alone,
bring his bowl, towards the Forest Uruvela; on the way
that he passed the Forest Kappàsika and sit under a
tree.
At that time, thirty prince brothers had a name
Bhaddavaggiya (so called because it has the elegance and
good looks, and good temperament, they have a habit of
to travel in groups) is partying with the wild
Forest Kappàsika, accompanied by their respective wives. Wrong

and the drunken, prostitute women are stealing their possessions
and fled.
Then the princes, aiming to help his brother,
around in the woods to search for missing women
it, and finally arrived in front of the Buddha was sitting under
trees, they came to him and, (not prostrate before
Buddha) said, "Buddha Majesty! Is the Buddha saw
a woman? "When the Buddha asked," Prince! There is
matter whether you are a woman? "They said,
"Buddha Majesty! We are thirty prince brothers
who are having fun in the forest with Kappàsika
accompanied by our respective wives. One of our
not have a wife so as to bring a woman
prostitutes. But, as we're having fun, women
prostitute stole his property and fled. To
help, we explored this Kappàsika Forests for
search for the missing woman. "
Then, the Buddha said, "Prince! In your opinion,
Which is better, look for the missing woman or
look for yourself? "They said," Buddha Majesty!
Certainly better, we find ourselves. "Buddha said,
"Prince! Sit. I, the Buddha would teach the Dhamma
to you. "And the prince replied," Well, Buddha
Your Majesty! "And then, after bowing to the Buddha
respectfully, thirty Prince Bhaddavaggiya sit
in the proper place of the six defect-free.
Buddha taught them in a way that has been described
previous moral teachings that led to the Roads and fruit
(Magga-Phala): (1) Dana-Katha, (2) Sila-Katha, (3) Sagga-Katha,
and (4) Magga-Katha also kamanam àdinava-Katha, Nekkhamme
Katha ànisamse sequentially. Furthermore, when the Buddha
knowing that thirty princes had had a mind
firm, soft, soft, free from hindrances, joy, clarity,
and easily taught, the Buddha expounded the Dhamma he has
find (Sàmukkamsika Desanà Dhamma) which is the Four Truths
Honor. So finally, thirty princes Bhaddavaggiya
, some achieve Fruition-Phala, some reaching
Sakadagamin-Phala, and others reached anagamin-Phala. (Not
one was fixed as puthujjana).
After thirty-Prince Bhaddavaggiya reach Fruition
Phala, Sakadagamin-Phala, and anagamin-Phala, they beg
the Buddha to ordain them as a monk,
"Buddha Majesty! Please accept us to release
worldliness (pabbajjà), and was ordained (upasampadà) by you. "
And the golden Buddha spread his arms and calling,
"Etha bhikkhave, and so on. Which means: Come, monk!
Accept ordination you ask. My son! Dhamma has
properly taught. You, my son! Try to achieve
three Magga higher in order to end the circle
suffering; "immediately after the Buddha spoke these words,
Bhaddavaggiya thirty-Prince is turned into
monk who complete such a Thera who had become
monks for sixty years, standing with a full robe
and is equipped with eight fixtures created
with the inner strength that each is in place
proper. They bow to the Buddha with full
respect. Form lay them magically disappear, they change
become monks. (Buddha just say Etha Bhikkhave
which serves as the ordination of thirty princes
them. Absolutely not require a ceremony in the hall
special ordination).
(Here, thirty-prince is thirty drunks in

they usually stay in the Pàveyya City west of Kosala
