Maha Buddhavamsa - Tathagata Explaining Characteristics

Maha Buddhavamsa
The Great Chronicle of The Buddhas
by Tipitakadhara Mingun Sayadaw

Tathagata Explaining Characteristics
Tathagata knows the curiosity and inquisitive also belief
that emanated from within the five hundred Arahanta led
by Venerable Sariputta. He went on to explain the distinctive
character and His achievements, which began with a poem:
Cattaro te asankhyeyyà
Koti yesam na NAYATI

My son, Sariputta, there are four things that are not measurable,
uncountable, and not known initially and finally. That four
things are: (1) creatures in general, (2) the extent of natural
universe, (3) the number of the universe, and (4) Sabbannuta Nana
owned by the Buddha whose reached Perfect Enlightenment.
(At that time, mind of the gods and the human were still filled with
magic charm which is shown by the Buddha. As if
attract the attention of the gods and humans, "There are still things
that beyond amazing wonders just
I showed. Listen to the stories beyond the amazing
magic earlier, "Buddha continued excitedly).
"Sariputta, besides a miracle that I showed recently, still
many other things more amazing that has never
happened before, and if told will definitely make you
goose bumps to hear it.

"After my death as King Vessantara, (after fulfilling
Perfection naan (parami), sacrifice (CagA) and various
virtue through practice (cariya), while I waited for time
to achieve Buddhahood) as a heavenly creature namad
Santusita, enjoying the heavenly bliss in Nature Gods Tàvatimsa,
for fifty seven crore and six million years according to
calculation in human nature, gods, and Brahma of ten
universe of thousands gathered in front of me and ask
petition:
O! Bodhisatta god, which is free from all sufferings, Thou
Ten parami meets in thirty categories, three types of
cariya and ten CagA, not for happiness
as a king "player-wheel," or Sakka, the leader of the
god or Mara or Brahma; Thou meets Perfection
it only aspires to attain Buddhahood in order to
liberate many creatures. O! Bodhisatta god, which is free
of all the suffering, the time is right for you later
Buddhahood has arrived!

O! Bodhisatta god full of spirit, the time is ripe
be yours to become a Buddha; please thee down to the natural
humans and into the uterus Queen Maya. Save the creatures
beings including the gods of the sea of samsara, may Thou
Nibbana through the eternal. "Thus they pleaded.
"I do not, immediately granted them.
First of all I'm doing five major investigations as
follows:
(1) Whether the time is right for the emergence of a Buddha, (2)
island or continent that is right for the appearance of a Buddha,
(3) country that is right for the appearance of a Buddha, (4) interest
or families where Bodhisatta would be born, and (5) age
from the mother Bodhisatta. I express consent only after
conducted five major investigations of this, "my friend, god and
brahma, the time really has come for me to be
Buddha (as you say). "After living for life
Tusita maximum in Nature Gods, I then go into the uterus
My mother, Mahàmàyà, unbroken descent from the rulers
Sakya.
When I go into my mother's womb with rapt attention,
ten thousand universe shook.
Still with rapt attention, I'm out of my mother's womb,
standing upright, with arms and legs stretched straight, like
a monk who falls from the throne of the Dhamma after
preached a sermon or as a human being
down the stairs pagoda, with no signs of foul play in the
My body, (on Friday, full moon night on the Moon Vesàkha, in
year 68, the Supreme Era.) At that time, ten thousand of the universe
shaking (as if cheering for the incident).
"My child, Sariputta, none that matched my
as Bodhisatta, in terms of entry into the uterus and out of
uterus (when entered into the womb, during ten months in the womb
mother, and at birth, in three events, he remained

attentive; thus the meaning of words.) (Later
Again, Arahatta-Magga Nana of certain students only
produce Arahatta-Phala Nana; some students succeed
achieve three vijja only and some others managed to master
Abhinnà six forms; while some other students achieve
Nana Patisambhida through Arahatta-Magga, the other only
master Sàvaka parami Nana; and paccekabuddha only
Bodhi reaches Pacceka Nana on achievement Arahatta-Magga
Nana. Arahatta-Magga Nana of all Buddhas, have benefits
which can immediately achieve all the characteristics of a reach
Perfect Enlightenment. Therefore), in terms of achieving
Arahatta-Magga Nana, no one equal me; also in
Nana Desana thing, I am the highest. Thus the Tathagata
provide a full explanation of his traits.
At that time, a devastating earthquake occurred when he entered the
uterus. Ten thousand universe shook in six directions;
(1) the earth's surface rises in the east and west down (2) the rise in
west and go down in the east, (3) up north and down south, (4)
rises in the south and get off at the north, (5) up in the middle and down at
around the edge, (6) rises on the edge all around and fell in the middle.
Glorious light, exceeding that possessed by the gods
and Brahma, with a very bright shine.
The gods and Brahma, witnessed an amazing phenomenon
and learn from the teachings of the Tathagata that this phenomenon is only
occurs when Bodhisatta into the uterus, say the ode
follows:
Aho acchariyam loke
Buddhànam gunamahantatà
dasasahassi 1okadhàtu
chappakàram pakampatha
ca obhàso Mahààsi
accheram lomahamsanam
O friends, the gods and Brahma, the great characteristics of the Buddha
cause the earth trembled and shook the ten thousand natural

universe and the earth's surface rises and falls in different directions;
east-west, north-south, and middle and edges. Light
resplendent in excess of those possessed by the gods and Brahma
also shine illuminate this world. Amazing charm of
This phenomenon makes us in awe flick of a finger
and make us shudder. Oh, the glory of many traits
of the Tathagata really makes us snapping his fingers in
admiration and respect.
At that time, the Buddha showed Miracle Ganda and
pacing in the street of gems that were created
with his supernatural powers. And while he was walking
up and down along the way, He expounded the Dhamma
like a roaring lion king, sitting on a stone slab
reddish, like a thundering sky, like a man
who swam across the river in the sky. With sound
which has eight features, in various ways, he
preached a sermon about the Four Noble Truths
led to the important characteristics of keselaluberubahan,
dissatisfaction, and without self-eternal.
Although the road is connecting the ten thousand gems
universe, Tathagata walk from one end and quickly
back again as if the road was only along the four arms
only; He actually walked from one end to the other, not
turned around before reaching the end.
(Here will be the question arises: Is the Tathagata, with
His strength, shorten a very long road is?
Or, did he change the size of his body so that the size
appropriate for the road? (Whether it is the result of
supernatural powers? Iddhi visaya?)
The answer is: No, it is not a creation through
supernatural powers, iddhi visaya. Supernatural powers possessed by a
Buddha, Buddha visaya, is not conceivable, beyond
reach of the human mind. Thus, the Tathagata can run
pacing in the street of gems as if walking on

road along the four arms.
Because of a Buddha unimaginable supernatural powers, so that
the whole scene can be witnessed from the Natural Akanittha
Brahma until woe Avici without hindrance whatsoever.
The entire universe into an open area next to one
to another without interruption, so that people can
see the gods and Brahma, demkian versa. They
can see the Tathagata was pacing along the road
long as they could see Him walking on the street
usual. Tathagata gives sermon while walking, and after
master mind in total (cittissariya), He entered into
Phala Samàpatti during a very short time during the
attendees say 'Sadhu, sadhu, sadhu. ")
Venerable Sariputta Apply for
In outlining Buddhavamsa Detailed
Venerable Sariputta, after saluting the Tathagata
who was pacing back and forth with incomparable majesty
comparison, gave a sermon about the Four Noble Truths,
to humans, gods, and Brahma of ten thousand of the universe
gathered there, thinking, "the gathering of human beings,
gods, and Brahma of ten thousand of the universe has never been
occur; This should be a good time to explain
Dhamma. A sermon about Buddhavamsa in particular, will
very useful to generate confidence and devotion
to the Tathagata. Should I apply to the
Tathagata to explain about the history of His life and
Perfection that he has filled ever since he received forecast
will become a Buddha. "Then he approached the Buddha after
lowered one corner of his robe over his left shoulder and hand
the dirangkapkan, filed a petition in the three stanza poem
